What are favorites?
Some Web browsers call the favorites bookmarks and that is exactly what they are:
Under the heading "favorites" a collection of bookmarks resp. links that you have chosen as favorites are stored.
This means that the programme with which you surf in the Internet (Web browser) simply memorizes a link to the site you are visiting. In other words, you can always add a website that you are visiting to your collection of favorites and the next time you wish to visit this same site all you have to do is click on the favorite to reopen it.
When using the Internet Explorer, you can have access to your favorite site by clicking on the button with the golden star which is named favorite.
When using other programmes, you will find the links in e.g. the menu "Bookmarks".
Is it dangerous to store websites?
No. It is not at all dangerous to store a website as a favorite/bookmark.
A virus cannot infiltrate because principally, at the time the link to favorites is being made, the only thing that is stored
is what is actually stated in the address bar of the browser(i.e. where the Internet address, e.g.
http://www.naildesigneurodiscount.com is written)
Other information or data is not stored.
How do I benefit by this? The advantage of using favorites is obvious:
If you include a Website that you often visit in your collection of favorites, you need never search for this Website again.
A double-click on the icon where your favorites are stored is enough to access the desired site.
Accordingly, you no longer need to key in the Internet address into the address bar of the browser.
From there, you can even drag the reference to the desktop and file it .
